Today marks day 5 of Claire being home sick from school, and now we've both been diagnosed with the misery that is the adeno virus. I hardly ever get sick, but when I do I'm a big baby. I'm so thankful for this man who, when I dissolved in tears in his office while stopping by to grab Evan's car seat for pickup, sent me and Claire home, picked up Evan, brought us all lunch, went grocery shopping, worked from home and handled the kids while I slept all afternoon, made milkshakes for the girls' sore throats and is now making his Mimi's famous Chex mix with the kids. He will never see this, but he deserves the shout-out. Oh, I had grand plans for this week! I was going to paint 40 frames, sell $500 worth of yearbook ads and hit official marathon training hard. In my spare time I would do all the post-travel laundry, restock the fridge and pantry, and get the haircut I've been postponing for a month. Instead, Claire got pinkeye - then I did - then she caught a bug that made her feel just bad enough to become gloriously snugly but did not make her puke. All she wanted to do was curl up on the couch with me and read. All day long. Um, YES, please. I also quit piano (again) (#margin!) and treated myself to some lovely new fonts to play with. I hate that she's sick, but other than that tiny detail, I have thoroughly enjoyed this week.
